In this busy and fast moving high-technology world we sometimes forget that our life is full of splendid art and culture. Art reminds people who they really are and what they were meant to be. It inspires them to strive for better, do things they never tried and look for answers they are too scared to ask. With the view to remind people about how beautiful and multisided the world around them is, there are places like museums and art galleries, where people are given a chance to forget about their problems and worries, put aside their day-to-day hassles and simply enjoy the experience of being a part of this wonderful life.

Today we’ll talk about the best and most wonderful museums in the world that contain some of most amazing works of art every person should see in their lifetime.

1. You cannot really say that you know what art is unless you visit the Louvre. The Musée du Louvre in Paris is the world’s biggest and most famous museum. It is home for some of the world’s best and most amazing works of art. There are about 35,000 of them to be exact.

2. Museo Del Prado in Madrid is proudly takes the second place on our top ten best museums list. The place is famous for housing the pieces of art from Italy’s well-known artists including the famous Velázquez.

3. The third place rightly goes to the Metropolitan Museum Of Art in New York City, better known as the Met, which boasts about 2 million pieces of art including those from ancient Egypt, Greece, Rome and many others. You might not have time to visit the Statue of Liberty or go up the Empire State Building but you definitely have to make it to the Met!

4. The Vatican Museums, Vatican City, Rome, is the place where you can marvel at the works of such men of genius as Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Raphael and many others. The place is visited by about 4 million people every year.

5. Another great French museum worth visiting is called Musée d’Orsay in Paris, which contains the biggest collection of Impressionist art in the world. There you can find works of Van Gogh, Monet, Manet and Renoir.

6. For Botticelli admirers visiting the Uffizi Gallery in Florence is a must. The place also features some of the most prominent works of Michelangelo and Leonardo da Vinci.

7. Although some might disagree but London does know a lot about fine arts. They have the British Museum to prove that, which houses as many as 7 million exhibit items covering every aspect of human culture from the very early times.

8. But it is not the only museum that Britain is proud of. The Tate Modern is a famous art gallery that presents collections of modern and contemporary art from all over the world. It is here that you can see the works of Dali, Picasso, Matisse, Rothko and Warhol.

9. The Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg, Russia, is one of the biggest fans of classics to be found. It houses works of Rembrandt, Da Vinci, Michelangelo, and Reuben. But the building itself is just as good as what’s inside. The splendidly decorated place is the former residence of Russian kings and queens.

10. The last but not least is the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C. Its collection of collection of paintings, drawings, prints, photographs and sculpture is simply amazing.  One of the good things about it is that you can visit the place free of charge!
